Over the last 3 months, we have been purchasing food specific to certain needs and SUNDAY APRIL 7TH is our final collection date for this type of food Drive!

Grace Community Church has partnered with Parkwood Gardens neighbourhood group in the West End Rec Centre for the last 15 years. The food cupboard at PGNG serves a very diverse community of 120 families, including 200 adults and 325 children. They have a thriving food cupboard program - with two staff and eight volunteers. In the fall, the food cupboard noticed an uptake in some unregistered  individuals who were coming who are considered unhoused - meaning they have no permanent home or address. Their food needs are somewhat different because they don’t have  the luxury of stoves, fridges and appliances.

The next time you are grocery shopping, Plan pick up a few of these items. We can likely meet our goal of fully stocking the PGNG food cupboard for the year. We will be collecting the first Sunday of every month for the next 2 months: March 3 and April 7.
